Melissa Benoist is an American actress best known as Kara Danvers/Supergirl on The CW’s Supergirl (2015-2021), a role that made her one of the defining female superheroes of the Arrowverse. Born October 4, 1988, in Littleton, Colorado, she also starred on Glee (2012-2013) as Marley Rose and has appeared in Whiplash (2014), The Longest Ride (2015), Patriots Day (2016), and most recently the Arrowverse crossover events and the 2023 documentary Homefront.
